Paolo GASPARINI : La ciudad de las columnas. 1ed. 1970 SIGNE

Description :

Paolo GASPARINI : La ciudad de las columnas. 1ed. 1970 SIGNED

Signed copy of a very rare book in its first edition.

Artist of international stature Paolo Gasparini was born in 1934 in the northeast of Italy and he began in photography with the neorealist photo-clubs. In 1955 he emigrates in Venezuela where he lived since practising the photography of architecture and especially the social report around the urban cultures of the South American continent.

In this book on the city of Cuba, the city in colonnades, it is especially the architecture which is highlighted as well as certain street scenes which restores, in a a little bit timeless way, the everyday life. Indeed no trace here of the Cuban revolution of 1959 and the imprint which she was able to leave in the city. As indicated in back page Editorial Lumen had his siege in Barcelona and the censorship of the fascist Franco regime which raged in Spain until 1975 would have not allowed it probably. The text which accompanies photos was dwritten by the great Cuban writer Alejo Carpentier.

Lumen ed. Publisher's editor's binding with illustrated cover. 112 pages among which 36 pages of illustrations excout of text pages. Wear as usaual considering the age of the edition (see photos).
