Bruno BARBEY : Le Maroc. O.E. Ed. Martinière, 2003. SIGNE

Description :

Very beautiful signd copy of a rare book.

Bruno Barbey, photographer of the agency Magnum was born in Morocco and lived up to the age of 12 years there between Rabat and Marrakesh. He kept for this country a creative fascination which he expresses here through 35 years of photos. "Morocco awakened him, Morocco soaked him, Morocco splashed him with lights, with colors, with contrasts. He accustomed his look to red, yellow ones, golds, ochre, wildcats, shadows, and then sands …". Bruno Barbey's photos offer the look of a contemporary artist on the Moroccan reality which crossed the history while keeping its peculiarity. Its artist's eye and its complicity with the country and his inhabitants deliver a timeless picture.
