Very beautiful copy of an essential monograph of the photographer, 150 photos fullpage reproduced in two-color process!

Ilse Bing was born in Frankfurt in 1899. Self-taught photographer, lle buys Leica in 1929. Her) first reports photo for illustrated newspapers. She frequent the avant-garde of Frankfurtand shoot towards themes seeming at the New Vision and of the humanist photography. In 1930, she settles down in Paris, next year she worksas photoreporter. Of Hebraic origin she(undergoes a brief internment to the camp of Gurs in 1940 then emigrates in the United States in 1941 where she will live until hedies in 1998. Emmanuel Sougez call her " the queen of the Leica " considering its early use of this material . Her self-portrait is a striking image of the histor of the photography and had inspire Yvette Troispoux's self-portrait. After the war she change photographic material with a Rolleiflex sample chamber.
