FONTCUBERTA : Fauna Orig. Ed. 1988 SIGNED

Description :

Parr & Badger II p. 68 + A. Roth, The book of 101 books pp. 262-265
The photography at the service of a paleontological hoax !
In 1979 Joan Fontcuberta and pere Formiguerra (« ant-hill » in spanish) would have discovered in a holidays cottage at the hedge of Loch Ness the mysterious archives of the zoologist Ameisenhaufen (ant-hill in german). They reveal the searches of a scientist fascinated by the animal transformations and the appearance of new species.
Fontcuberta states that the propaganda and dictatorship of Spain under Franco in his first 20 years led him to be skeptical about authority, which is reflected in his art. His background in communications and advertising led him to contemplate the relationship between photography and truth.
